Postcards from the Edge 2019

Visual AIDS utilizes art to fight AIDS by provoking dialogue, supporting HIV+ artists and preserving a legacy, because AIDS is not over.

For the past 20 years, Visual AIDS has done a benefit art sale in New York City called Postcards from the Edge, a show comprising hundreds of same-price, one-of-a-kind pieces created on 4″x6″ postcards. Artists’ names are written only on the backs of the postcards so art lovers will feel free to buy what truly speaks to them without feeling influenced by a well-known (or an entirely unknown) name. How cool is that?  :- D

This year edgy Canadian artist Lorette C. Luzajic and I have teamed up to submit a mixed-media collage inspired by / incorporating one of my one-breath poems. Artists can only send one piece, but Lorette created six so we’d have several to choose from. Which one did we select?… (For now I’m not sayin’. LOL!- )

Do you have a favorite? Which one?

Red Poppy 29 (Time)

Moon (Darkness)

Forget-Me-Not (Passing)

Hydrangea (Adrift)

Peacock Feathers (Fog)

Red Poppy 5236 (Birdsong)

I love the imagery for the blue suited man, but the words from ‘adrift,’ really speak to me :)
