Haiku for Peace
In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center (JACCC) in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, invites poets to write a haiku about peace and post it on the JAACCC wall.
If you don’t live nearby, you can post it on their Facebook events page, and they offer to transcribe it to a post-it note and pin it on the wall in the JACCC for you until September 19. Then, the haiku will be sent to Hiroshima and the Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
Please take a look and post your haiku here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Japanese-American-Cultural-Community-Center-JACCC/108520352549.
NOTE: For some reason, the link above doesn’t appear to be working from WordPress. It seems to work fine from a browser, though, so I suggest that interested readers paste the link into one to access the JACCC Facebook page that way. And for those who’d rather visit via Facebook direct, just paste the following in the Facebook search box: Japanese American Cultural & Community Center – JACCC. LOL!
